Information we collect

We know how important privacy is, this makes one of our main privacy goals to store as little data as possible about our users. However, to make HEX BOIS work there are a few things we need to store. We consider our data to be one of two types, general data or HEX BOIS specific data.

If you play HEX BOIS without an account (guest mode) then we do not store any data about you.

General information

This is data which you use outside of HEX BOIS. This data is the most important to you and therefore we always try to store as little as possible of this data type.

General information we store about your account:

  • Your Google account ID
  • Your email address

HEX BOIS specific information

This is information that is only relevant in the context of HEX BOIS, we need to store this to remember simple things about your account like which colour you have selected.

HEX BOIS specific information we store about your account:

  • Your username
  • Your selected in-game cosmetics (colour & skin)
  • Your purchase history in the HEX BOIS shop
  • When you last played HEX BOIS (date & time)

Additional information

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

Information we do not store

We would like to specifically point out some pieces of your information that we do process but DO NOT store. This includes:

  • Chat messages that you send and receive
  • Your visitor ID which is used to identify your browser when reconnecting to existing matches

How we use your information

The information you provide us with is essential to making HEX BOIS work. We use your data to:

  • Identify your account
  • Fulfil purchase orders
  • Contact you (game updates, account updates, changes to HEX BOIS)
  • Provide our services
  • Develop new services, features and products
  • Prevent fraud and in-game cheating

Use of your information with the HEX BOIS API

We offer a public API where anyone can make requests to retrieve information about the current state of the HEX BOIS application. This information is used to build interactive experiences outside of the website itself (such as the Official HEX BOIS Discord bot). We NEVER publish “general” information about players on our API service, however, parts of your HEX BOIS specific account information is made visible here to the public.

Managing your information

Request a copy of your information

If you would like to receive a copy of ALL the information HEX BOIS stores about you then please submit a request to [email protected]. Want to know what information you would receive in this request? Check out the “Information we collect” section of this privacy policy.

Delete all of your information

If you would like to request all of your HEX BOIS information be deleted, you can submit a request to [email protected]. Please be aware that this would include your purchase history with us which means you would lose any items that you purchased in the HEX BOIS store. This would also delete your HEX BOIS account.

Note: if you are requesting the deletion of an account which is banned or suspended, then we will retain your account identification number to prevent you from accessing our services as per the terms of service. All of your other information will be deleted, as you requested.

Card payments

HEX BOIS uses Stripe to handle card payments, this means that we never collect, process or store your card information under any circumstances. If you would like to know how Stripe process your card information to make purchases, please read their privacy policy
